Marriage Licenses

In New Mexico marriage licenses may be obtained the day of the wedding for $25 and are valid for
one year.

No blood tests are required.

You will both go to the county clerks office with a valid form of ID (driver's license, passport, or certified copy of a
birth certificate).

If a divorce has been finalized within the last 90 days, bring a certified copy of the Final Judgement.

Bring you license to the wedding ceremony.

It must be signed by the officiant , bride, groom and witnesses, then returned or mailed to the county clerk who issued it.

Once it has been recorded it will be returned to you as a souvenir.

You may need copies to make name changes on legal documents like social security, passports and some accounts.

The Marriage Certificate is different from the Marriage License. The license is a legal document, the certificate is more of a keepsake.

Some alternatives to the traditonal home town wedding.

The destination wedding has become very popular in recent years. The actual destination can be as exotic as a gathering at a far away resort or taking the celebration to a favorite vacation area in just beyond your neighborhood.

The Weekend Wedding is a great way to accommodate traveling guest. In addition to the ceremony, you might plan day activities for old and young alike. And then round it out with a good bye brunch on Sunday just before you leave on your honeymoon.

The Honeymoon Wedding literally takes your guest with you to the romantic site of your honeymoon. Like the Weekend wedding you might plan activities for your guest to enjoy each others company, maybe even get to know each other. And then have a farewell gathering to send them on their way after a wonderful vacation that incuded you beautiful wedding.

The Progressive Wedding is the answer for those couples who have family all over the country or even the world. Have the ceremony in the place of your dreams, then have receptions with your families, back home, with friends. Whatever makes everyone feel included, without giving up you dream.

The Surprise Wedding is really a surprise for the guests-surprising the bride or groom doesn't seem like a great idea. This is an excellent choice for an older couple who doesn't want a lot of fuss or the expectation of gift giving.

Well, I'm sure you have already thought of many variations to each of these weddings and maybe even come up with an even better idea for your perfect wedding day.

Why Couples Choose an Interfaith or Non-denominational Minister as Their Wedding Officiant:

There is flexibility in the content and style of the marriage ceremony when you choose an Interfaith Minister

The minister can honor the beliefs of a couple and at the same time be inclusive of guests and family.

When the bride and groom are from different faith or cultural backgrounds and wish to honor both traditions.

An Interfaith Minister can easily officiate at a Destination Wedding, even when the couple may have a church relationship back home.

A couple wants more than a civil ceremony, one that is meaningful, yet not necessarily religious.
